It’s that time of the year again! Sephora’s 20% VIB Sale has arrived. Of course, I picked up quite a few items during the past few days. One of the items in my many hauls is the Caudalie Make-Up Remover Cleansing Water. I was always torn between the Caudalie and Koh Gen Do cleansing waters. They both had such great reviews on multiple websites.

About 2 weeks ago, I finished up my first small bottle of the Koh Gen Do Cleansing Spa Water. I use the Spa Water to remove excess makeup after I have already used a cleansing oil first. It is really good to remove the last small remnants of waterproof mascara, eyeliner and such. When used on its own as a makeup remover, it does pretty well except for waterproof mascara and eyeliner. To get those off, you have to really scrub away at your eye (which is a nono!)

The Koh Gen Do Spa Water Cloths are great for makeup as well. Again, I like to use it to remove the last bits of makeup from my face. The cloths are soft and gentle on the skin – nothing like the other cleansing/makeup removing cloths that are available on the market. There is no harsh scent either. I love keeping a package of these cloths in my purse or overnight bag. When you’re in a real pinch, you can definitely use it to take off the bulk of your makeup.

Now… the Caudalie Cleansing Water. Although I read a lot of great reviews about the product, I find that it really fell short of my expectations. The smell is a bit fruity, nothing terribly overwhelming – I could have done without it though. First, I tried taking off some makeup with the item. Waterproof mascara and eyeliner did not budge at all. My blush, eyebrow gel, and highlighter came off, but that’s not saying much since they come off with my normal facial cleanser as well. In the end, I find that the only place this cleansing water has in my skincare routine is to wipe down my face on those nights where I have no makeup on and I’m too tired to get out of bed to wash my face properly.

All three items are great for sensitive skin. There are no harsh ingredients that cause excessive skin irritation or burn your eyes. I think I will continue purchasing the Koh Gen Do products from now on. They’re really fantastic products for a fairly decent price!
